A new prequel comic has confirmed Agent Peggy Carter’s rumored appearance in the upcoming “Ant-Man” film.
In the comic, Peggy visits Hank Pym, who is sporting the Ant-Man suit, and opens fire on him to check out how the suit works, similarly to what Carter did to Cap’s vibranium shield in “Captain America: The First Avenger,” Comicbook.com notes.
A flashback scene involving Howard Stark, Peggy Carter and a younger Hank Pym had been rumored for the film, but even if we don’t see that particular scene, it has become apparent that we will see Carter and Pym mingle at some point during the film.
Project Casting had also reported that Hayley Atwell, who plays Carter in the MCU, would appear in the film a few months ago.
“Casting directors are looking for an actor to work as a stand-in for the actor Haley Atwell. Haley Attwell is 31, 5’7 and 112 pounds,” the report said.
“Ant-Man” will star Paul Rudd, who plays a scientist that creates a substance that changes his size and gives him the ability to communicate with insects. Michael Douglas will also play an Ant-Man character, Hank Pym, with Evangeline Lilly filling in as the female lead, Hope Van Dyne.
Other actors that have joined the cast include Corey Stoll, who play’s the villain Yellowjacket, Michael Peña, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Abby Ryder Fortson, Gregg Turkington, Bobby Cannavale, Tip Harris (a.k.a. rapper T.I.), John Slattery and Greer.
The “Ant-Man” prequel comic will release for sale on February 4 and the film will hit theaters on July 17.
